11th Maxim Sports Nutrition Zurrieq Half Marathon

Organized by Zurrieq Wolves Athletics and follows M.A.A.A. (Malta Amateur Athletics Association) rules and regulations.

Registration Fee
Local AND Foreign Athletes
Euro 12.00 - or equivalent in other foreign currencies
The registration fee includes medal to all finishers, original race T-Shirt and certificate by post.
Additional Donation
You are encouraged to include a donation that will be forwarded to our official charity. Anything that you donate with be welcomed and very much appreciated
Age Limit
17 years or older on race day
Time Limit
The time limit is of 2hrs 30 minutes
Registrations Close
The closing date for registrations is October 29, 2008
Late Registration
After October 29, 2008, registration will be strictly Euro 20.00. Any application forms that arrive after this date and do not contain correct payment will be refused.

Changing and Personal Effects Holding Facilities
None are available - On the day of the race the Zurrieq Wolves Club will be closed.
Note: We do offer assistance with regards to changing and personal effects holding to foreign participants. These are requested to contact the organizers well in advance and not on race day
Shower Facilities
No shower facilities are available.
Collection Of Numbers
The race numbers can be collected on Friday, October 31, 2008 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm from the Zurrieq Wolves Club
and on Saturday, November 1, 2008 from 9:00am - 11:30am from the Zurrieq Main Square.
The race numbers must be worn on the front and must not be folded.
Race Starts
The starting time is 8.30 a.m sharp
Team Event - Rules
A team may represent any club or group. A team will consist of three runners. Every three same sex members of a club, or group, who finish the event will be classified as having participated in a team competition. Runners who do NOT name their team on their official entry will NOT be classified as having participated in the team competition.
The winning order will be established after the placing of the 3 members of the team is counted in the order they finish the race.
Bandit Runners
We consider all those who run the race without a number as bandits (or pirate runners). These are not welcomed and if found on the start they will be asked to leave. If they are running the race they will not be given any type of assistance, and if they attempt to enter in the finish they will be blocked.
Apart from this, we will also have a number of photographers around the route and these are instructed to take photos of these bandits. In turn, these photos can be published in this website.
Start and Finish
The start and finish of the race are both in Misrah Mattia Preti in Zurrieq, right in front of the Zurrieq Parish Church
Route
The race starts in Zurrieq Square just in front of the Zurrieq Parish Church and passes through the picturesque villages of Zurrieq, Safi , Mqabba, Siggiewi, Qrendi and Kirkop. The route allows you to enjoy Malta 's best panoramas.
Route Markings
The route is marked in miles and kilometers.
Marshals
The route is very well marshaled. The marshals are members of Zurrieq Wolves ASC, Zurrieq youths recreation centre, the scouts group, Puttinu Cares helpers, the police and other volunteers and friends.
Water Stations
3 Water stations are available; these are located at the 3rd, 7th, 10th mile
Sponge Station
One sponge station is available at the 12th mile
Medical Assistance
An ambulance and patrolling vehicles are provided by the Special Rescue Group.
Race Results
Preliminary unofficial race results will be available in this website a few hours after the race.
Race Certificate
A participation certificate together with the official results will be posted to all finishers by the end of November.

Please note that if, in the age category, there will be more than 9 runners, a trophy/token for 1st, 2nd and 3rd will be awarded. It is also important to note that in our race a participant can win more than one prize (Overall placing, team award or age category award)
Breaking The Route Time Record
A prize of Euro 50.00 is awarded to the male or female that breaks the route record.
Post Race Presentation
The race presentation is held at the Zurrieq Wolves club on Sunday (race day) and will start at 8.00pm
